Gram Souness believes Arsenal need not one but two top-flight strikers to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title.
Although Mikel Arteta’s side have stepped up their game to challenge for the title, สมัคร ufabet กับเรา รับโบนัสทันที they have yet to reach that stage, and Souness believes there are still fundamental differences with the Reds in terms of goalscoring and Havertz is not the answer in that position.
“Mikel Arteta has built a fantastic team that is missing two or three top strikers to challenge Liverpool for the best,” Souness told MailSport. “Strikers like that are the rarest, most important ingredient in a title-winning team and what Arsenal are missing.”
“Just bring Newcastle’s Alexander Isak into Arsenal’s team, that’s the player they wanted in the summer. The team would be complete and ready to win two big trophies.”
“This week’s Carabao Cup semi-final showed what it means to me, yes Arsenal lost to Newcastle United but for me they were the better team. The stats don’t tell the whole story but Arsenal had 68 per cent possession in that game and 69.5 per cent in the first leg but still went out of the cup 4-0 on aggregate because nobody scored in the whole 180 minutes.”
“Arsenal should be dominating games. One day they score five against Manchester City – three days later they are dominating games but lose at Newcastle. I guarantee you they will leave St James’ Park thinking ‘why haven’t we scored in both games?’ They can’t afford to have that kind of inconsistency.”
